My Quest to Find the Best Burgers, Pizzas, and Poutines in the Ottawa-Gatineau Region

The poutine came with hand-cut, skin-on, crispy fries. There was a good amount of cheese curds The gravy had nice texture and flavour, but I could have used a little more of it. The poutine was a little dry.

The burger came with a large patty grilled medium-well, which left it pretty moist. It could have used some seasoning. It was topped with a generous amount of jack cheese and thick-cut bacon, which was nicely crispy. The bun held up very well considering how messy this was (this burger came with peanut butter as a sauce).

This was a good example of Neapolitan-style pizza. The dough was chewy with nice pops of char on the outer edge. The sauce was pretty good. The cheese was of good quality and the cup pepperoni was nicely salty. Pro-Tip: The in-house hot sauce is excellent on this.

The fries seemed slightly larger than average. There was a generous amount of cheese. The gravy was actually quite good. It almost tasted like it had a little bit of tomato in it (though I doubt it actually had any). There was a little bit too much of the gravy, though.

The burger had a large sesame seed bun that was nicely toasted. The large patty was stuffed with mozzarella and parmesan, which I really enjoyed. I did not love the meat itself. It was strangely seasoned, which was my biggest issue the burger. I suspect it might have also had a bit of binder (perhaps in order to keep in the cheese), because it was somewhat more rubbery/chewy than I would have liked.

The burger came with a medium-sized, well-done patty topped with a good amount of cheddar. The bun was dense enough to hold up to all of the toppings. There was shredded iceberg lettuce, which I really liked. The tomato was cut very thick, which I wasn’t a fan of. The best two elements were the burger sauce and the peppercorn bacon.

This was definitely in the vein of Ottawa-style pizza, though not quite as thick. The crust had a more cracker-like texture than I expected. The toppings were of reasonably good quality and plentiful. The sauce was quite bland.
