Review: This had a lot of sweet pizza sauce with large chunks of tomato. There was a thick layer of cheese at the base that gave a really nice, salty punch. The sausage was of good quality and in large chunks. The crust was crispy and cracker-like with a butter cookie-type sweetness. Rating: 8.0/10

Made in Chicago (Thin Crust) – Pizza
Review: This had the same relative ingredients as the deep dish, except it had the sauce under the cheese. While the amount of toppings was generous, it was almost too generous as it made the pizza harder to eat than you’d expect for a Chicago pub style pizza. Rating: 7.1/10
Marcello’s Burgers and Beef – Burger
Review: This featured two thin patties cooked on the flat top. The beef seemed very fresh. There was a generous amount of processed cheddar. The bun was of a brioche style. I added onions, lettuce and mayonnaise. This was very good. Rating: 8.3/10
Marcello’s Burgers and Beef – Poutine
Review: The fries were real and thinner than a standard cut. The gravy had a nice consistency and there was a very nice amount of curds. Rating: 7.5/10
Burger Factory – Burger
Review: This patty appeared to be treated correctly (a proper smash patty on the flat-top), but it came out incredibly dry. I suspect they used extra lean ground beef and it desperately needed fat/moisture. There were too many vegetables. The bun also needed fat or at the very least, some toasting. It was just too …
Burger Factory – Poutine
Review: The poutine looked good with skin-on fries, but they were a little pasty as well. The gravy was a little light. There were just enough curds, but I would have liked more. Rating: 4.6/10
Great Canadian Poutinerie – Poutine
Review: This had very crispy, skin-on fries that fall somewhere between standard and julienne cut. It had a very generous amount of cheese curds. The gravy had a deep, beefy flavour and was reasonably thick. This was very good overall. Rating: 8.5/10
The Brig – Burger
Review: This had a really nice patty cooked medium-well. Crispy onions added a nice texture, but the burger could have used the tang of raw onions to go with the shaved lettuce. The aioli was a really good sauce option. The bun was the weakest element. It was just bland and pasty (they used to …
PiCo – Pizza
Review: This had chewy, Neapolitan-style thin crust with charred edges. The sauce had a hint of sweetness to it. I added mozzarella and fior di latte, which I understand is essentially the same thing, but gives a nice change of texture. The sausage was also of decent quality. Rating: 7.7/10
Shakey’s Homestyle Cuisine and Deli – Poutine
Review: This had the crispy, frozen fries that I’ve grown tired of. The gravy was good and salty and there was a decent amount of cheese curds. Rating: 5.0/10
