Pearson Street Smashburgers and Melts – Burger

Review:

I opted for 2 patties. The patties were the definition of smashpatties, thin with crispy, lacy edges. There was a thick slice of American cheese. I enjoyed the shredded lettuce and burger sauce. The bun looked plain, but it was actually more dense than I expected. This was very good.

Pachino Pizza and Grill – Pizza

Review:

The crust was very soft and of medium thickness. The sauce was light in flavour. There was a generous amount of cheese. The pepperoni was a little thicker than expected which gave the pizza a little pop of spiciness/flavour. Overall, I feel like the pizza would have benefitted from a couple extra minutes in the oven. This actually reminded me of “mall pizza”, even though it was not located in a mall.

Le Moulin de Provence – Pizza

Review:

This is a bakery pizza. I tried it cold before heating it up. I didn’t love the choice of crust. It was like a dense bun rather than a typical pizza crust or something more like focaccia which can also work. It was pretty greasy. The rest of the pizza was stronger. It needed more sauce. The cup pepperoni was good. The cheese was nicely salty, though I would have liked even more of it.

Poutinerie La Trappe – Burger

Review:

The patty was fairly large, probably in the 5-6oz range. It was cooked to well done, but had no outer crust. It was very soft. It was topped with a generous amount of roquette cheese. I really enjoyed the crispy onions, the aioli and the pretzel bun. I didn’t love the greens. This burger would have actually worked best without any vegetables.
