Sonny’s Bar and Grill – Burger
Review: This featured what appeared to be a pre-formed patty. It was topped with some cheddar. I appreciated the iceberg lettuce. It came on a standard sesame seed bun that was lightly toasted. Rating: 5.5/10
Sonny’s Bar and Grill – Poutine
Review: The hand-cut fries were nicely cooked. The gravy was pretty standard brown gravy of a nice texture. There was a good amount of cheese curds. Rating: 7.5/10
Pizza Express – Pizza
Review: This was pretty standard Ottawa-style pizza. The crust was thick, but well cooked. The sauce was a tad more herbaceous than I expected. There was a generous amount of cheese. The pepperoni was larger and under the cheese. Rating: 6.6/10
Pizza Express – Burger
Review: The patty, which I believe was charbroiled, was about 4oz and topped with processed cheddar. There was shredded romaine lettuce that didn’t hold up very well. The secret sauce was pretty good and I always enjoy a toasted sesame seed bun. Rating: 6.8/10
Pizza Express – Poutine
Review: This seemed to feature average quality frozen fries. The gravy was a brown gravy, but it seemed to have a tiny bit of additional spice. There was a decent amount of cheese curds. Rating: 5.6/10
World Burger – Burger
Review: The patty was probably in the 6oz range and grilled well-done. It was topped with a good amount of processed cheddar. It also had a generous amount of bacon. I got it with caramelized onion and lettuce. I really enjoyed the maple mayo as the sauce for the burger. Rating: 7.5/10
World Burger – Poutine
Review: The fries tasted like pretty high quality, standard-cut, frozen fries. There was a reasonable amount of cheese curds. The gravy was a pretty standard brown gravy. Rating: 6.3/10
