Review: The poutine came with fresh cut fries. They were a little bigger than what I think of as “standard”. They seemed to be double-fried because they were pretty crispy despite not being very brown. There was a decent amount of cheese curds. I really enjoyed the thickness of the gravy, though I still needed …

Le Foubrac – Poutine
Review: The poutine came with really crispy, skin-on fries. There was a very generous amount of cheese curds. The gravy was of a really nice consistency and had a good beefy flavour. Rating: 8.3/10
Le Foubrac – Burger
Review: The patty was packed densely and was slightly over-cooked which made it a little dry. It could have used even more swiss cheese to add moisture. The tomato was paper thin, which is actually my preference. The house burger sauce was quite good. The best part of this burger was the bakery-style bun which …
Maxi Frite – Poutine
Review: The poutine featured skinless hand-cut fries. I had plenty of cheese curds. The gravy seemed to have a chicken base with a really nice peppery note, but it needed a little bit of salt. Rating: 7.7/10
Maxi Frite – Burger
Review: The burger came with a very compact patty cooked well done that was covered by a slice of processed cheddar. The vegetables were pretty fresh. There was a little too much bun in relation to the size of the patty, but I thought the bun was of better quality than I would have expected …
La Belle Province – Poutine
Review: The fries were real, standard cut fries. They weren’t extremely crispy, but they were crispy enough with a really soft centre. There were plenty of cheese curds. The gravy was more of a BBQ-style gravy, which was a nice change of pace. Rating: 7.8/10
La Belle Province – Burger
Review: This was a small chip truck/stand-style burger with a 2.5-3ish oz. patty, cooked very well done. It was topped with processed cheddar. I liked that it had iceberg lettuce. The bun was actually of better quality than you’d expect from this type of burger. Rating: 6.3/10
Big Bone BBQ – Burger
Review: The burger had a really heavy grill flavour which I really enjoyed. It was topped with processed cheddar. I also opted for peameal bacon, which was also grilled and added a nice texture to the bite. The bun was lightly grilled. I would have liked it even more toasted. Rating: 7.5/10
Big Bone BBQ – Poutine
Review: This had the frozen fries (I believe they were McCain Superfries) that I just don’t like. It did have a decent amount of curds. The gravy had more beef flavour than I expected, which was good. Rating: 5.9/10
Maison Publique Portage Orchard – Burger
Review: The patty was thin and packed very densely. It was cooked well done. Swiss cheese was a nice addition. Spicy mayo was a really nice option. Most of the vegetables were fine, but the biggest issue I had with this burger was that it had leaf lettuce that became extremely soggy (I got it …
