Skinny George’s Smash Burgers – Burger

Review:

The burger came with 2 smash patties. They were a little crispy, but still relatively soft. They were heavily seasoned with something like Montreal steak seasoning, which was actually my least favourite aspect of the burger. It was just a little too much for me, especially because of the high flavour/fat content of the brisket patties. The patties were topped with cheddar cheese. I really enjoyed the sauce, which was similar to a Big Mac sauce. The only vegetables included were pickles (tons of them). I do regret not asking to add lettuce to the burger. I felt like it could use something fresh. Everything was served on a very soft bun.

Big Rig – Burger

Review:

The burger came with a pretty large patty, probably in the 7oz range, which had good grill flavour. It was topped with a slice of Monterey jack cheese. The bacon was nicely cooked and there was a good amount of it. The caramelized onions provided a nice amount of sweetness. The spicy mayo was actually quite mild. The bun was very large and lightly toasted.

Local Public Eatery – Burger

Review:

The burger came with two thin patties that were quite crispy. They were topped with a generous amount of processed cheese. The veggies were good, though there was excessive lettuce. The pickles were the standout item on the burger providing a pop of brightness. The burger sauce was decent, though there was a hint of spice that kinda didn’t fit the burger. The bun looked good but had a bit of the texture of a fast food bun (hard to describe, but it’s like a tighter grain than homestyle buns).
