Review: This had the same relative ingredients as the deep dish, except it had the sauce under the cheese. While the amount of toppings was generous, it was almost too generous as it made the pizza harder to eat than you’d expect for a Chicago pub style pizza. Rating: 7.1/10

PiCo – Pizza
Review: This had chewy, Neapolitan-style thin crust with charred edges. The sauce had a hint of sweetness to it. I added mozzarella and fior di latte, which I understand is essentially the same thing, but gives a nice change of texture. The sausage was also of decent quality. Rating: 7.7/10
Mia Pasta – Pizza
Review: This was a flatbread-style pizza. Unfortunately, my crust was burnt (not just charred) badly along all of the edges. It was hard like a rock and had that bitter metallic burnt taste. Interestingly, were that not the case, this would have received a reasonable score. The sausage was very nice and the cheese to …
Naples Pizza (Hull) – Pizza
Review: This was pretty much the definition of Ottawa-style pizza. It had the typical, thick crust, but with a slightly less eggy base. Despite being thick, it was fully cooked. The sauce was even sweeter than I’d expected, which I actually appreciated. The toppings (pepperoni and onion) were included under the reasonably generous amount of …
Gabriel’s Pizza – Pizza
Review: This was one of the quintessential Ottawa-style pizzas. The crust was thick and eggy, but cooked reasonably well. There was a lot of cheese. The meats were of decent quality. I’m rating the standard version, but I will say that ordering their “thin” version yields better results. Rating: 6.7/10
Pizza Italie – Pizza
Review: The crust was of medium thickness. There was a lot of sauce and the sauce was a little sweet. There was a good amount of cheese. The pepperoni was very salty. The sausage was pretty good. Rating: 7.0/10
Monza Pizza – Pizza
Review: This pizza had a very thin crust, charred in a wood-fired oven. I liked it a lot. The cheese was clearly of high quality. There was a good amount of toppings for the thickness of the pizza. The pepperoni was quite good and the sausage was good as well. It felt like the top …
Merivale Bowling Centre – Pizza
Review: I didn’t plan this review at all, but why not? The pizza arrived looking thick and heavy, but it was deceptively light. No ingredients stood out as particularly great, but nothing was bad either. It tasted like best frozen pizza ever, to be honest, and I didn’t mind at all. This was surprisingly easy …
Fiazza Fresh Fired – Pizza
Review: I’d eaten from here before and I always thought it was decent, but this was the best pizza I ever had from this place. The crust was light, crispy and just a little charred. The sauce was pleasantly herbaceous. There was plenty of cheese and the sausage was of really high quality, though I …
Bistro Cazza Pizza – Pizza
Review: The crust was of medium thickness pretty dense and crispy. The sauce was mild, but good. There was plenty of cheese. The sausage was more processed (like a pepperoni, more than an Italian sausage you’d get from a grocery store) than I expected, but very good nonetheless. Overall, this was really solid and pretty …
