Review: The fries were good and a little more done than at most fry trucks/stands, which I didn’t mind at all. It seemed to bring out the sweetness from the potatoes. There was a generous amount of cheese. The gravy consistency and flavour were ok, but there was just way too much of it. It …

Nate’s Deli – Poutine
Review: The fries were very good. They were slightly larger than typical, hand-cut and very crispy. There was a fair amount of cheese curds on them. Unfortunately, the gravy had a bit of a lack of flavour despite having a nice, dark colour and good texture. The cheese curds were good. Rating: 7.3/10
Mozza Pizza – Poutine
Review: This poutine was ok. Every single element was acceptable, but nothing stood out as exceptional, poor, or interesting in any way. The ratio of cheese to gravy to cheese was just right. It was very safe. Rating: 5.9/10
Manhattan Handmade Burgers – Poutine
Review: The skin-on, hand-cut fries were lightly seasoned (they offered a spice blend that I could have used even more of) and very crispy. The gravy was a little thin, but not lacking in beefy flavour. It was generously covered in cheese curds. This was really a good effort. Rating: 8.1/10
Baja Burger Shack – Poutine
Review: The frozen fries were large and mildly spiced. Unfortunately, they just couldn’t hold up to the gravy and became very mushy. The gravy was too thin and lacked flavour and there was not enough cheese. Rating: 4.7/10
The VAULT Bistro – Poutine
Review: The fries were the crispy frozen fries that seem to be making the rounds these days (they might be McCain Superfries). I’m just not a fan at this point and it affects my score. There was a decent amount of cheese curds. Unfortunately, the gravy was very bland. Rating: 4.5/10
The Burger’s Priest – Poutine
Review: The poutine featured excellent, skin-on fries. They were thinner than average, but not quite a true Julienne. There were a few smaller ones that were extra crispy. There was a decent amount of cheese. The gravy was good, but didn’t really stand out. Rating: 7.2/10
Xtreme Pizza – Poutine
Review: This featured large, frozen fries that actually held up pretty well compared to most frozen fries. There was a very generous amount of cheese curds. The gravy was also quite flavourful. I actually liked this quite a bit for a frozen fry poutine. Rating: 6.4/10
3 Bites Shawarma, Greek & Pizza – Poutine
Review: The poutine was hurt by the use of frozen fries, but they were of reasonably good quality. They actually held up well whereas some frozen fries get very pasty as they cool. The gravy was pretty good, not too thin. It had a decent amount of cheese curds. Rating: 6.1/10
Frerot Cuisine and Bar – Poutine
Review: These were real, skin-on, standard-cut fries. There was a hint of sweetness to them. They weren’t crispy, but the fact that this was delivery needs to be considered here. There was a fair amount of cheese curds. The gravy was pretty standard brown gravy. There was maybe a bit too much of it. Rating: …
